An orifice flow meter is a differential pressure (DP) flow meter that measures the flow rate of liquids, gases, and steam in industrial processes by creating a pressure drop across a precisely machined hole in an orifice plate. As fluid passes through the restricted orifice, its velocity increases, causing a corresponding decrease in static pressure. A differential pressure transmitter measures this pressure difference, which is then used to calculate the flow rate, making orifice meters a simple, cost-effective, and reliable choice for robust applications.

Orifice flow meters are used in a variety of industries where robustness, durability, and cost-effectiveness are important for measuring flow rates of clean liquids, gases, and steam. Water supply systems, Petroleum refineries, Natural gas transmission, Chemical plants, and Measuring steam and thermic fluid flow.

French engineer G.G. Coriolis first noted this effect, which plays a role in ocean tides, weather patterns, and now—flow measurement!

ORIFICE ASSEMBLY :

The ORIFICE ASSEMBLY is a flow element capable of adapting to DP transmitter to make a compact, complete flow metering transmitting device without the need of separate impulse piping
